Killing Flesh Crawlers is an option for lower levelled Runescape Players, but at a certain point while killing Flesh Crawlers in Runescape, one might find himself bored. Now I have decided to find a more challenging alternative: The Giant Spiders. Giant Spiders in Runescape offer more Lifepoints than Flesh Crawlers, which means Giant Spiders in Runescape give more experience. The downside is that they can hit more often and accurately than Flesh Crawlers which make Defence very important. The length of trips between killing Giant Spiders and Flesh Crawlers in Runescape have a significant difference.

Runescape Giant Spiders are level 50 monsters which drop no items upon being killed, that is why it is recommended to get the food near the River Lum at Gundar's Ground (Barbarian Village) from the players fishing there. Giant Spiders in Runescape are also located in the Stronghold of Security at the Third Floor. (Details of getting to the Second Floor of the Stronghold of Security could be found here.)
The encircled portion of the map of the picture denotes the area where to kill the Giant Spiders in Runescape, it is recommended to stay at the centre to maximise the Giant Spiders attacking you.
Recommended equipment for Free to Play:
Full Rune (Rune full helm, Rune plate legs, Rune kite shield ,Rune plate body)
Amulet of Strength or Amulet of Glory
Rune Scimitar
Rune Gauntlets (Optional)
Explorer’s Ring
You must be at least level 90 with the stats:
1. 80 Attack Level
2. 80 Defence Level
3. 85 Strength Level
For Runescape Members
Abyssal Whip or Chaotic Weapon
Atleast Rune armour or better
Amulet of Glory
Ring of Life or any other imbued ring
Giant Spiders could be afkable, as long as you check your health every 5 minutes. Like Flesh Crawlers, Giant Spiders have certain points in their area which make them agressive again which are:
First Spot:
Second Spot:
Third Spot:
Last Spot:
To make Giant Spiders in Runescape aggressive it is recommended to go through each spot chronologically which means: First Spot, then Second spot and etc. The cycle repeats itself. On a member's world the Giant Spiders in Runescape have a small chance of dropping charms which makes it not suitable for gathering charms. For Free to Play it is possible to get 50k to 70k experience per hour here, at maxed combat. And for Runescape Members it is possible to get 60k to 70k experience per hour. The weakness of Giant Spiders is the crush attack.
Note: Experience rates vary from player to player and from time to time, because of the max hit of the Giant Spiders in Runescape.
