Mortal Online Starter Guide For A New Player: Including Step By Step Instructions On What To Do

Mortal Online is a relatively new MMORPG game developed by Starvault. It can best be described as a full loot sandbox player versus player game containing few player versus environment elements. There is no game like Mortal Online, your best alternative would be Darkfall Online but it still isn't like Mortal Online at all. In Mortal Online you do not level like in a traditional MMORPG game, rather you level the skills you use and need, skills like woodcutting, sprinting, breathing techniques, armor crafting and so on. There are no quests, but you can use the skills you train to craft items like weapons and armor and sell them to another player or vendor.The money you receive can be used to further train your skills or buy other items from players. You can also store your money at a storage keeper until you have enough money to buy a house or a mount. When you have a house, a mount, some weapons, some armor and some gold you are ready to join a guild and conquer the world of Mortal Online. You can build towers, even complete guild castles (non-instanced!). Together with your guild you can gradually conquer the world until all is dominated by you and your fellow guildmembers.

That is, sort of, what Mortal Online is. If you don't like it, Mortal Online is not for you. It's a game that doesn't appeal to everyone and especially not to people who are used to being led around. In here, there is nothing like a big tutorial. When you're just starting out, the only things that might help you are the friendly community and the few wiki articles available. Don't worry though! This will help:

1. Start by buying some pick-axes and a torch. Torches are used to light your way when the world of Mortal Online turns dark (once every six hours). You really won't see a thing without a torch.
2. Now go to a crafting tutor and learn the woodcutting and gathering skills.
3. Practice your skills on trees and bushes until you feel like you've trained enough and you've gathered enough materials to sell for a big amount of gold. Be careful you don't gather too much materials or else the total weight you are carrying with you might be too high and you will slow down.
4. After that you're going to get yourself to a city and visit the nearest vendor and sell your materials. Store the money on a storage keeper, because Mortal Online is a full loot PvP game: if someone kills you, he or she will be able to steal all items you were carrying along with you.
5. It's safe to ask and join a guild for new players now, there's a lot of them and since the Mortal Online community is very friendly compared to other MMORPG communities they will be able to supply you with weapons and armor for free.
